Tinui folk agitating to have the site and cross marking New Zealand's first Anzac service on Mt Maunsell (Tinui Taipo) recognised as an historic place are going to be disappointed again this Anzac Day.

The village was promoted last year as the new Gallipoli, with pilgrims urged to stay home to remember the fallen Anzac soldiers. The air force then led the drive to bring thousands of people to Tinui for April 25.
