Kete Masterton has just been launched.
Part of the National Digital Strategy, Kete - the Māori word for basket - are being set up by libraries around the country to allow groups and individuals to gather, digitize, and share their records and stories.
This is a great opportunity for Masterton groups to pool stories, photos and other memorabilia, and have it online for everyone to share.
Kete are already underway in other parts of the country. Groups already capturing their history on the Kete include the Waikato Porcelain Artists' Association, Central Hawke’s Bay Settlers Museum, and Inglewood Genealogy.
The library has computers, scanners and digital recorders, and will provide expertise and training to help you.
