A trip to Greytown for lunch in pouring rain saw us change direction as we could see the sky over Martinborough bathed in sunshine.
This proved to be an inspired decision as the weather in Martinborough was bright and sunny, if a bit breezy.
I'd seen Hope & Glory on Twitter, and their lovely blog, and welcomed a chance for a visit.
Hope & Glory is a feast for the eyes - style, colour and imaginative handcrafted dresses for little girls, beautiful cushions, delightful soft toys, vintage books and all sorts of other ephemera. It came as no surprise to learn that Hope & Glory's owner, Vanya, is also an interior designer.

Then it was round the corner to visit Gertrude Snyder - Vintage Treasure in the old postmaster's house, chock-full of artfully displayed vintage collectables - everything from linen, haberdashery (including some hard-to-find items), silverware, crystal, glassware, fine china, carefully selected books, kitchenware and jewellery.
An elegant little crocodile skin handbag was very tempting, but I decided in favour of a couple of 1921 English prints, in their original, but now shabby chic frames.
